JaxDesigns was hired as the
web designer/developer** for the ISU Molecular Research Core Facility (MRCF)
in October, 1998. They combined their artistic and technical abilities to
create an attractive, informative web site. Prior to hiring JaxDesigns the
MRCF web site was text only and definitely needed a new look. They used
their creativity to combine text, photos, and other tricks of the trade.
The result was a site that was visited by many ISU personnel seeking
information about the MRCF, as well as potential new faculty, students and
staff. In summary, I would highly recommend JaxDesigns as your web
designer/developer. They are dependable, accurate and listen carefully to
the customer's needs and ideas. Sincerely, Erin O'Leary-Jepsen Manager

JaxDesigns' skills in web design are clearly very developed, and their approach is innovative and refreshing. The web site** that they designed for the Waste Management and Environmental Science Program has received numerous compliments which refer to the general attractive appearance of the web site and, more importantly, its ease of use and clarity. JaxDesigns obviously understands the significance of helping web site users find and access information unique to their specific needs, and that this goal is equally as important as catching their initial attention with interesting graphics and designs. They made web site construction look easy.

JaxDesigns was the primary Designer from [January, 1999 through December 2000] for the Digital Atlas of Idaho project** for which I was the Principal Investigator. This 3-year, $500,000 project included biological, geographical, geological and educational information for K-12 Teachers, about the geography and ecology of Idaho. the final product [website and CD-ROM] is something everyone is delighted with...I would gladly hire them again for Web-based educational technology projects. They have a wide range of knowledge of natural history topics, as well as HTML language, plus a good sense of design and lots of Web-time...I give them a strong recommendation.

I write in recommendation of JaxDesigns
Development Company, with whom I have had the pleasure of working on
educational and web-based products for over three years. Working with
JaxDesigns has been a wonderful experience, both because of their
enthusiasm for the educational endeavors they've been involved with, and
for the wealth of ideas, suggestions, expertise, and commitment they bring
to any project. I first encountered JaxDesigns during my involvement with
the Digital Atlas of Idaho project**, in which I was part of a team of some
dozen faculty, students, and staff at Idaho State University who were
building a compendium of earth science, ecological, geographical, and
historical information on CD- and web-based platforms for use by Idaho
teachers, students, educators, and the general public. The project was a
mammoth undertaking by a group of academics who had just enough knowledge
of the capabilities and potential of the digital medium to be dangerous.
Fortunately, we discovered JaxDesigns during the earliest stages of the
project. Ever since, we've realized how extremely lucky we were to have
found such experts in web site design and programming who also brought
such extraordinary creative and organizational talents to the project. The
Digital Atlas of Idaho is a success story which owes its design and layout, ease of navigability, much embellishment of its contents, and its professional look to JaxDesigns.
Beyond their prodigious technical skills with html, Java, and related web programming tools, JaxDesigns also becomes personally involved in their web design projects. It is because of this personal involvement that the final product so strongly reflects a seamless meld of artistically and esthetically-pleasing presentation and technically-efficient information accessibility.
My most recent experience with working with JaxDesigns has been in a web site-design project for a ground water education and outreach group. The Portneuf Chapter of the Ground Water Guardian hired JaxDesigns [in January, 2001] to create a web site*** that would make ground water information available to the local community...as was the case with the Digital Atlas project, the final web site has
evolved through a very productive, collaborative, give-and-take process with JaxDesigns, into the excellent site it is. Although still a work in progress, I would strongly recommend a visit to the site (www.portneufgroundwater.org) for another example of the incredible amount of work, creative involvement, and care that JaxDesigns invests in their design projects.
I vigorously recommend JaxDesigns to all of my associates when asked for a web consultant or design specialist of top caliber.
Sincerely yours,
John Welhan, Ph.D.

Dear JaxDesigns: This is a recommendation for your fine work on the Sawtooth Science Institute web site**. For many years, I struggled with finding someone who could simply put the Institute's yearly workshop schedule on the web. But no one seemed to be able to complete that task with any accuracy much less any style.
With your excellent work, I got so much more than I had originally thought possible. Your attention to detail was nothing short of miraculous. The creation of the Idaho map overlaid with the plants and animals of the state is a wonderful work of art that inspires viewers of the web. In fact, the NatureMapping pages convey the program with simplicity and eloquence. I had great difficulty in writing a description that fully explained the program. I needed your help to accomplish this -- and I got so much more than I anticipated.
Thank you for your inspiration and creativity! I will definitely call on you again when it is time to change the programs -- and for other web design needs.
Sincerely,
Christine Gertschen, Director

Because of their extended interests and abilities to work with all aspects of being a webmaster, our department has utilized JaxDesigns' effort enormously over the past three years. They constructed several...modules for the web-based section of my Environmental Geology course, assisted in
web mastering Idaho Virtual Campus**, began development of a number of field exercise modules for IVC, and were the principal coordinators and producers for the two-CD Digital Atlas of Idaho***. These accomplishments and the experience behind them speak well for JaxDesigns; however, their abilities extend beyond the realm of producing materials for the
Internet. JaxDesigns is one of the few companies I know who can size up a situation and work in a research-oriented mode to solve the problem. They know what is necessary to complete the job and then they do it. They are highly motivated and diligent workers when it comes to producing the highest quality product. JaxDesigns makes a fine addition to any research or educational team. They have my highest recommendation.
